Second day in Melbourne

The weather was very hot but never mind the stuffiness of it because it was my day to move into International House. I didn't really have much expectations of how exactly my room was going to turn out but I was certainly crossing my fingers and hoping for the very best. So as I walked through the corridors of SCHEPS building (the building which I live in ) early that morning, I suddenly had mix feelings because those corridors were built in like jail. The octagon shaped building were made of ancient bricks and plus because of the bad lighting in the corridor, it does give newcomers an idea of jail cell. Oh, but never mind , I eventually got used to it and I find the interior of the building pretty cool because despite of its dullness and ancientness, my room's window was actually looking out into the Central Business District. The skycrapers really looks awesome at night. ( I look at it everynight before I go to bed). Haha. Enough of my room now, I shall now then elaborate explicitly on the day's itinery.

After moving into IH, we ( Hui Wen, Aunt Mee Fong , my mum and me) were given a tour around the campus. We got to know some new people from all over the world , for example, Charlie from Timor Leste, Yuyi and Shunsute and Hanaye from Japan, erm a girl from Mauritius , David and Oliver from China, quite a few of Malaysians and Singaporeans ......... Oo, almost forget the only course mate who stays here ,Ming from Hong Kong ... and there is also Cherry studying Vet Science in Melb uni. The list doesn't exactly stop here because the orientation have yet to begin and some of them have not move in yet. Feeling kinda nice , getting to know so many people from different parts of the world, it actually made me realise that there is more then just Malaysia.

So now moving on to shopping in Big W and safeway. Erm , due to the lack of 'stuff" in my room , we decided to go for shopping to brighten up Hui wen's and my room. We bought too much stuff that neither all four of us could get it back to the campus but fortunately, Nicholas and Chin Zen came and meet up with us and kindly helped us to carry them out to the exit where we took a cab back (Note: no lift in shopping malls) . Upon reaching IH, my mum and I quickly unpacked the luggages which we didn't have time to do so that morning . OOoo.... speaking of that, I actually assemble the parts of a fan all by myself you know, not bad for a girl right who I mean do house work...... Hehe . Even though there was a manual , but it was just plain useless so eventually i managed to use my logic to figure it out , but, well a bit of help from Hui Wen la. HAHa.

So , the day basically ended with me staring at my rather empty room till my eyes could not longer bear the sight of it. HAha.

Saturday (Today)

Something super hilarious actually happened to me this morning during breakfast. Firstly, I didn't really know how to work the toaster here in Melbourne so my breads got burned ( Note: the toasters here are very different, they don't pop up like they do in Malaysia). A great start for the day , huh? but anyway , the worst part came when I finally managed to toast my bread properly but screwed up by mistaking mamike (the one for porridge ) for NUTELLA chocolate hazel nut spread. The moment I took a bite , the super duper saltiness of it almost made me wanna spit it out but I didn't because it wss just too impolite to do it in front people .
Anyway , I didn't finish the toast. HAha.
